Adult Enrichment Classes

IMPORTANT NOTE: Currently, all class and program information is available at this site: www.aarecedonline.com.

Rec & Ed’s programs are created for everyone--birth to adult. We offer a wide array of programs in the arts, languages, cooking, wellness, finance, computers, woodworking, handicrafts, and so much more! We partner with community members and businesses from the area to provide high quality, affordable opportunities for adults to pick up a new skill or continue learning an old hobby. In a typical season, we offer 80-100+ enrichment classes and 60-80 fitness and yoga classes. Many classes meet every week throughout the season, and others meet only once or twice to accommodate busy schedules. Take a look through the options below to find something fun to take this season!

When and Where Do Classes Run?

We run classes each of our four seasons (which generally start in September, January, April, June), year-round. Our classes are located throughout all areas of Ann Arbor, both in AAPS schools and in other studios and locations.

For information about our current offerings, please go to Online Registration or visit www.aarecedonline.com

Who Teaches Rec & Ed Classes?

All classes and programs are taught or led by local expert instructors who are passionate about sharing their skills and talents with our community. If you have an idea for a class, submit a proposal and our program staff will contact you if they believe the class will be a good fit.

Who Can Take Classes?

Anyone is welcome to enroll in our programs! No membership is required, and fees are the same whether or not you reside in the AAPS district. Some programs can accommodate youth under 18, some programs are parent/child or family classes, and others are 18+.  Most classes are geared towards the true beginner and require no experience, but our instructors are happy to accommodate those with more experience. Any age and class requirements are listed in the class description.

Weather Cancellations

When AAPS is closed due to inclement weather, all classes in AAPS buildings are cancelled, but classes in non-AAPS buildings may still run. Outdoor classes without a back-up location may be cancelled due to rain or severe weather. We do our best to email or call if we have cancellations so please make sure your contact information in our system is up-to-date.
