SAND VOLLEYBALL IS 7 WEEKS.  

*The league entry / sponsor fee is the initial fee paid by all teams at registration to reserve their spot in the league. All teams pay both the sponsor/registration fee plus the team fee, regardless of whether or not the team has a sponsor.
The non-resident fee applies to all players and substitutes who reside outside the boundaries of the Ann Arbor Public School District. 

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A TEAM TO PLAY ON? 

Players without a team should contact the League Director at brockmane@a2schools.org or 734-994-2300 x53254 for help in finding a team that may need a player or substitute. 

FEE DEADLINES
Sponsor fees are due at the time of registration. TEAMS WILL HAVE FROM AUGUST 7-14, BY 4:30p, TO EMAIL IN ROSTERS, TEAM FEE, AND ANY NON-RESIDENT FEES (if applicable) Any rosters or players submitted after this deadline will be charged a $5 per player late fee. Captains may pay over the phone at 734-994-2300 x0 between 8:00am - 4:30pm or may scan the league director a Credit Card Form to brockmane@a2schools.org.

ALL captains must submit a new team roster each season.
 
SEASON LENGTH & START DATES
  • Fall sand volleyball is held on SUNDAYS ONLY
  • The season is tentatively scheduled to start Sunday, August 10th, 2025.
  • All teams play 7 matches.
  • No play on Labor Day weekend
  • NO playoffs

GAME, SITES AND TIMES

  • All games are played on the sand courts at Wines Elementary School or Wolverine Pickleball.
  • Sundays only
  • Start times will be scheduled anytime between 12p-6p pending registration numbers.
  • Match time limit is 55 minutes in all leagues. Each team is given 5 minutes ON COURT warm up prior to the start of their match, with the surrounding grassy areas used for off-court warm-up. 
  • Time constraints and darkness may warrant the cancellation of on-court warm-up by the site supervisor.
  • All matches consist of three 21-point rally-scored games with a cap of 23.
  • All matches are self-officiated.

Teams are advised to register promptly to be sure of getting a spot as our leagues fill up very quickly. All registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and leagues are closed as they fill, regardless of deadline.

  • You can register your team online or over the phone during business hours (8:30-4:30) at 734-994-2300 x0.
  • NOTE:  Online registration is for initial/sponsor registration only, which reserves your team’s spot in the league.  Captains will still need to submit their team roster and additional team fees by the contract deadline to complete their team's registration.
  • Only returning captains can register online during the pre-registration day. Returning captains receive a code to use to pre-register online.  Anyone can register online after the first day of registration.
  • NOTE: ROSTERS AND TEAM FEES SHOULD BE SUBMITTED by email/scan to brockmane@a2schools.org. ROSTERS AND MONEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE COURTS.
 
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

Email the league director if you need to make roster additions or need to look at the free agent list. 

Players may participate on only one team in each program. For example, a woman may play on one Women's team and one CoRec, but not on two Women's teams.  Men may not play in the women's program, but women may play in the men's program.  Players must be at least 16 years old, unless specific permission is requested by the parent and an exception is granted by the Team Sports Manager.

Standings are available on the website.  To verify standings, call the statistician at the Rec & Ed office at 994-2300 x53218.

REFUND POLICY
 Teams requesting a sponsor/deposit fee refund must complete and submit a refund request form or email the League Director. 

  • Sponsor/Deposit fee refund requests received in writing by 5:00 pm at least 14 calendar days before the league's first scheduled match are subject to a $10.00 service fee.
  • Sponsor fee refund requests received in writing by 5:00 pm within 14-7 calendar days before the league's first scheduled match will be assessed a 50% (i.e.. 1/2 of the sponsor fee) service fee. Sponsor fee refund requests received less than 7 calendar days before the league's first scheduled match will be denied.

Team Fee Refund Requests

  1. All team fees are due before a team's first scheduled game.  Refund requests for team fees will be denied.
